THE STORY OF GREEN SOUL

Grown with heart, rooted in family.

Green Soul Flower Farm began in 2022 with a simple passion for specialty cut flowers and sustainable farming. Today, we carefully tend to every bloom right here on our local farm, bringing vibrant dahlia patches and custom-curated bouquets directly to our wonderful community.

Welcome to Green Soul Flower Farm

— Hi, I'm Chelsey

I'm a farm girl, born and raised in rural Ontario, with deep roots in agriculture. I grew up watching both sets of my grandparents dedicate their lives to farming, and today my father and his brothers continue that legacy on the vegetable farm started by my great-grandfather. As a fourth-generation farmer, a love for the land has always been part of who I am.

What started as a love for flowers has grown into a small flower farm of my own. In 2022, I purchased just over three acres and an old farmhouse that needed a lot of love and hard work. Since then, I've been slowly transforming the property into a productive and beautiful space where I can grow specialty cut flowers and raise my family.

These days you'll usually find me in the gardens alongside my son, Layne, and our dog, Nova. Together we're growing thousands of blooms each season, including over 2,000 dahlia tubers and hundreds of other specialty cut flowers. Every seed planted, bed prepared, and bouquet created is done with care and a genuine love for what I do.

I'm incredibly grateful for the support of family, friends, and customers who have helped make this dream possible. Thank you for being here and for supporting local flowers. I can't wait to continue growing and sharing this journey with you.

OUR TIMELINE

The path that led here.

1920s

Roots in the soil

My great-grandfather broke ground on the family vegetable farm — a legacy my dad and uncles still tend today.

Childhood

Raised in rural Ontario

I grew up watching both sets of grandparents dedicate their lives to farming. Love for the land was always part of who I am.

2022

Three acres of my own

I bought just over three acres and an old farmhouse that needed a lot of love. The first beds went in that spring.

Today

Thousands of blooms

Over 2,000 dahlia tubers, along with delphinium, lupins, eucalyptus, and hundreds of specialty cut flowers — every seed, bed, and bouquet shaped by hand.

Rows of young plants growing in a farm field with black plastic mulch, and a greenhouse structure nearby under a blue sky and surrounded by trees.

— THE HOMESTEAD

An old farmhouse, slowly coming back to life.

Three acres of pasture, raised beds, and old maple trees. We're restoring it season by season — one cover crop, one bouquet, one quiet morning at a time.

HOW WE GROW

Four simple commitments.

Everything we do is built around the kind of flowers we'd want for our own table — the kind you can only get when someone has actually spent the season with them.

Grown from seed

Almost every stem is started here in February — no plug trays, no shortcuts.

Small plant sprouting from soil

Gentle on the land

No-spray, low-till, cover-cropped. We borrow this soil for our grandchildren.

Hand holding a heart

Sun-ripened

Our blooms open on the plant, not in a refrigerated truck halfway around the world.

Made by hand

Every bouquet is composed by hand on our farmhouse table.
